She believed she could so she did

I took my time and a roundabout journey arriving where I am now! It often surprises people to hear I wasn't a massive fan of PE at school. This is the perfect example of it's never too late to be what or who you're meant to be.

Having grown up with active parents who loved the outdoors I didn't realise how much this had become part of my own make up until my early twenties.

I dabbled with sporadic running and 80's style aerobics and later learned the theory of exercise as part of my BSC (hons) degree in Psychology and Sport Science. However it wasn't until I started getting excited by active challenges and realising that with a bit of effort you could get better at it and it made you feel better that it dawned on me I quite liked this fitness lark!

The passion grew as I dabbled with various sporting events and my role on the local Council Parks and Countryside team really highlighted my love of the great outdoors and of sharing this with others to promote the value of our green spaces and being active.

As the sporting adventures grew so did my wish to spend more of my time involved with health and fitness. I also became aware of the power of moving our bodies for our mental health and realised I was at my happiest moving and being outdoors.

Fast forward a few years and the meandering journey has gelled into my purpose and passion working as a Personal Trainer and Life Coach with people to develop and enhance the fitness of their body and mind as a whole picture integrated approach.

I support people to realise their potential, discover their motivations, identify their goals, recognise their strengths and resources whether this be physical well-being or bigger life changes. I then work with them towards their chosen destination and I'm their most enthusiastic cheerleader on the way!

Here are a few of my client’s achievements and success stories so far

  • Larissa Clarke you'd better get yourself some business cards printed up with "miracle worker" on them. Six short months ago I started couch to 5k, struggled to run for three minutes at a time and 5k was a dream away. Today I chose to do parkrun as a gentle cool down after a 5k hills training session. How did you do this to me?!?!? Thank you so much smile emoticon
  • "I’m not a keep fit person and always start an exercise routine and then give up, but with SheWalks I’ve found the right group for me. It’s full of supportive coaches and women it lets you set your own pace and stretches you - if you want to. I’m not able to walk about 4 miles in an hour and that’s something I would never have thought possible. I’ve kept up with the sessions and its fantastic to be outside and walking in areas of Bedford I didn’t really know existed."
  • "At the age of 57, I 'd never attended an exercise class in my life and never expected I would do so. However, when I heard Larissa was advertising a new class, I decided, very nervously, to attend. I can honestly say it has transformed my life."
